KVBA is a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting blues music in the Kalamazoo Valley and surrounding area. Our members are people just like you who love blues music and want to see it continue to grow and thrive in our community.
KVBA hosts numerous events throughout the year including the annual Kalamazoo Blues Festival, the Winter Blues Series, the Blues in Schools program, the Boogie Woogie Bob Peters Scholarship, and is a member of the Blues Foundation, which hosts the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis each January.
We also support and promote the Blues Challenge, held each fall, where Kalamazoo-area bands and solo/duo artists compete to represent KVBA at the IBC.
